Enough Spice to Clear your Sinuses

So the ongoing theme seems to be that I was sick. By Friday, my nose was so stuffy I gratefully accepted my sister's invitation to come over for some Thai take out - so long as she promised to up the spice level. The Massaman curry helped; unfortunately, the two cats did not. Sunday, in the allergy-free zone of my own place, I found the recipe for yellow curry I pinned a few months ago. Of course, I did crank up the spice more than last time. I may have over done it. Either way, spicy foods are almost better than chicken noodle soup for a cold!

I didn't think to grab a picture of my supper until I licked the
bowl clean. Here's a picture of the leftovers I had for lunch!

  1. I agree! I'd rather eat something with flavor to clear out the sinuses as long as I'm up to it! That looks delicious!

  2. You know what works best for me when I want to clean out my sinuses? Wasabi, because it hits you at the back of the throat instead of on the tongue like other spices. So I guess sushi should be added to the list of sick food, right? :D

  3. Mmm I love spicy foods when I'm sick. My favorite is the sausage, potato, and kale soup from Olive Garden. It's got the sick trifecta of salt, starch and spice.

  4. I think you're right about spicy being the best medicine. And also a hot hot hot bath. Sweat out the baddies!
