I'll admit, I've been slacking off on the creativity with the clothes because of all the reading I've been doing to prepare for my thesis defense. Instead, I've been using basic clothing experiments to help solve the getting dressed dilemma. Last week (or the last 2 weeks), I did cardigans vs. blazers. This week was skinny jeans vs. wide leg jeans.
I like skinny jeans because they tuck nicely into boots, to stave off the damp ankle scenario that happens from time to time. Even though I dressed these pants for winter, I styled them for spring - yay floral jackets!

| My thesis exploded all over my floor... and my life |
I've been obsessed with grey skinny jeans for months, and finally scored a pair a few weeks ago. They were the perfect base for my Jets themed outfit when we went to the hockey game.

| No, I don't usually wear my socks OVER my jeans... oops! |
And colour - who doesn't love a good coloured skinny? I managed to pick these teal pants up for $1 at Winners when I went shopping with my mom (Ok, she also bought me the grey skinnies when we went to Value Village before that. Aren't Moms awesome?) Naturally, purple was the shirt I had to wear with them!
Apparently I didn't take a picture of my usual blue skinny jeans. But I swear I wore them too!
Girls with legs as slim as yours are lucky -- skinny jeans, especially now that bright colors are available, look fabulous. Enjoy!
ReplyDeleteI love skinny jeans - and I never thought I'd say that in a million years, I resisted for so long, then I bought two pairs this year and now I want more! I love your gray ones, they're really cute and a fun color!
ReplyDeleteIt is tough to break out of the thesis mode when you are so focused on it! I know how that it is ... Grad school life.

Love all your skinnies! Moms are the best. Seriously I can hunt for weeks for a pair of pants that "fit"... sort of. But Mom? She can head out to Goodwill and find me a pair that fits perfectly.
ReplyDeleteCara, I applaud anyone working on their thesis. I graduated with a masters in environmental science and luckily didn't have to do one for that program. Good luck girl! Those are some fabulous pants for $1. I never have such luck! HAHAHA I love the color and you can style it so many ways. I love your floral jacket too. Wishing you a wonderful day!

I was thinking today (when I put on a pair of skinnies for like the 1000th time in a row) I should probably get out my flares for a change... nah. I am coveting your grey jeans! I have been looking for some and can't find any suitable.
ReplyDeleteWhen I wear jeans- I prefer skinny as well- especially the colour of the last pair of yours- very cute!
